Forum 6‘s first show in its new gallery is having the show-closing party this Saturday – hope to see you there! Love how my drawing Take Me Somewhere goes well with Giselle Rosethal’s sculpture and Hedwige Jacobs’ drawing.
My work is in see.me’s latest show, The Story of the Creative. Opening party at 172 Norfolk St, New York City tonight, 25th July, 2013. Cocktails by Absolut Vodka. Show but no vodka, is on until Sept 10th.
As an artist, it is very rewarding that someone feels a personal connection with the art that I make. At Friday night’s event, I was fortunate to hear personal stories of why people gravitated towards particular artworks. Thanks to all those who attended – it was great to meet lots of new people and hear the viewer’s perspective, especially on the new pieces that hadn’t shown before, such as new charcoal drawings on panel and the continuation of the flower/butterfly theme on pages from Anna Karenina that combined the drawn line technique that the promo film shows me using. A lot of my art found new homes and the two charity boxes raised money for the Freedom Place charity!
I’m one of the artists doing a live paint showcase at the Helfman Fiat showroom. You’ve seen those little Fiats zipping around town, sneaking into tiny parking spots, and there’s a cool ad where they drive through the ocean from Italy. Now you can see these updated Italian design icons up close. There’s beer, wine, lite bites, raffles and if you buy an artwork, a portion of the sales go to charity. $15 in advance/ $25 at the door.
