Spring show
Today it’s Spring – Saturday 28th April
Drop by my studio to see new work inspired by springtime while you sip wine. See what the theater people, designers, painters, photographers have been creating, today 3-9pm. Food trucks there too. And a harpist, apparently. Fotofest is also on display.
Upcoming exhibitions: ‘Giving Birth’, ‘5by5by5’, SOS12

Annual art event on April 28th, Saturday. Last year was loads of fun so make sure you make it there!
Also planned for mid-May is East2Collective’s exhibition 5by5by5 – watch this space. East2Collective is a collaboration between Holly Hoyt, who does fine art photography, and myself. We have big (and small) things planned for your viewing pleasure…
March brought an interesting topic to explore in an interesting art space. One of my pieces, ‘Nine’, was shown in a group exhibition ‘Giving Birth‘, at Houston’s The Artery. Alongside paintings, the event also featured live performance, music and a film. All part of Herstory month! Go girrrls.
The Butterfly – a short film
The music was composed and performed for the film, by a very talented young man, Jacob, who is a mere 9 years-old. Thanks Jacob, for collaborating with me!
Thanks to Kafah Bachari Manna for inviting me to take part, and all the VBB people for providing the forum.
Group shows, February 2012
My work will be in a new group show curated by Kafah Bachari Manna with Voices Breaking Boundaries. What’s Color Got to Do With It? deals with race and color in interracial relationships. Head over to the Houston Institute for Culture, 708C Telephone Rd, Houston 77023 this Sunday night.
If you’re in New York, stop by Wayfarers Gallery where one of my newspaper butterfly pieces is showing in a group show called I Ch-Ch-Choose You. I was at the opening party this past weekend and was very impressed by the other artists’ work. Until Feb 26th, 2012; Wayfarers Gallery, Dekalb St, Brooklyn, New York City.
