The Collector: paintings on novel pages + newspaper
These works revisited an idea that I initially investigated during my final degree show and has been rolling about in my mind for a while.
I extracted pages from novels and newspapers specifically chosen for their content and painted a intentionally chosen image upon it. e.g: the image of the bird represents flight, painted onto the newspaper clipping of cars for sale (a form of transport); butterflies representing fleeting moments are painted upon pages from classic novels with themes of love, marriage and society.
