These paintings incorporate abstract with realist painting styles. I mixed up techniques such as screenprinting, spraypainting, charcoal and graphite drawing, with good ol’fashioned oil painting that allowed me to portray botanical details. The butterflies and flowers symbolise what appears to be delicate but has hidden strength and temporary beauty. A reoccurring theme in my art is nature versus the urban.
